Dressing in the month of September can be a real trial. On one hand, you have all these antiquated rules dictating that you can no longer wear certain fabrics or colors, like white, after Labor Day, plus all of your favorite brands are rolling out their Fall collections featuring STUNNING booties and fresh color palates that make you want to wrap yourself in wool and leather and curl up with a piping hot PSL.
On the flip side, It’s HOT! Boston’s still looking at several weeks of temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s which isn’t exactly conducive to wearing boots.
So what do you do? What do you wear?
Simons Says: TAOS!
We cannot speak enough on how comfy and supportive Taos shoes are. Taos believes in giving “women stylish and comfortable footwear…[T]his commitment to style, comfort, and quality remains [their] guiding principle.” Nearly all of their uppers are adjustable and their footbeds removable, for those of you with custom orthotics. On the whole, they’re unbelievably light-weight with stupendous arch support.
Aside from the comfort factor, the look can’t be beat. These styles are the perfect way to transition your feet out of sandals and open-toes, while still allowing them to feel unconfined yet supported.
The Bravo, Class, and Cobbler styles are splendid for the office and each will work perfectly with both pants and skirts.
For those of doing any end-of-the-summer traveling, the aptly named Freedom lace-up is where it’s at. It’s that perfect travel shoe that looks dressier than a sneaker but certainly feels as comfortable as one. Pair it with the Class or Cobbler and you’re covered for 2 of your 3 allotted pairs of shoes. Read more about choosing the right styles for your upcoming trip here.
